HAF Announces Sol Awards 2011

New York, NY, October 31, 2011 - The Hispanic AIDS Forum cordially invites to you join us at Sol Awards 2011 in celebrating the 26th anniversary of the establishment of the first Latino organization in the United States with a mission to respond to the AIDS crisis affecting the Latinos in New York City.
HAF created the Sol Award (Sun Award) in 2007 to honor individuals and entities for their extraordinary acts of compassion, courage and leadership in our shared struggle to eradicate HIV/AIDS and its root causes from our communities. This year we proudly honor four outstanding individuals, each of whom has devoted almost his entire adult lives to fighting the spread of HIV and homophobia.

HAF was established in 1985 as the first Latino organization in New York fully dedicated to addressing the needs of Latinos affected by HIV. HAF's mission is to improve health outcomes for Latinos in New York City who are affected by HIV and other chronic illnesses. HAF fulfills this mission by integrating prevention and education into a set of multi-faceted wellness programs.
